A Message From the Principal....
Another new year begins-Welcome 2018! I hope everyone has had a chance to relax and enjoy some quality time with family and friends over the Holiday Season. The start of school, after a significant break, always provides a good opportunity to re-establish a focus on learning. On January 2nd, teachers in grades K and 1st attended a training on Reading strategies that was conducted by our Academic Intervention teachers. Teachers in grades 3-5 attended a training on the upcoming English Language Proficiency Assessments for California (ELCAP) test. Beginning in 2017–18, the ELPAC is the required state test for English language proficiency that must be given to students whose primary language is a language other than English. This assessment will aid us in continuing to provide quality instruction to our English Language Learners.
I’m enthusiastic and excited about the new year and all the opportunities for learning it will bring to our students, and I am sure you share my enthusiasm. Thank you, Hathaway parents, students, and staff for continuous support. Have a great 2018!!
Ms. Perez
